Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work will include but is not limited to mowing, weed whip trimming, edging, tree and debris removal, herbicide application, and other related work. This consists of all berms and right of ways associated with the property unless otherwise noted. The frequency of mowing is determined by the growing season and, on average, is mowed at least eight (8) times per year unless otherwise indicated. Mowing of the lagoon and residual ponds includes the entire edge of the pond and slopes, which will vary depending on soil conditions and the depth of water in the pond.; Mowing and maintenance work shall include removing and disposing of twigs, small branches, and other minor litter that can be collected from the mower and deposited into a 5-gallon bucket. Larger pieces of trash such as driftwood or construction debris will be collected and removed under the Laborer Bid Item of the contract if authorized by the Owner.; The mowing shall not result in the scalping of the turf, displacement or rutting of the underlying soil, or other damage to the Owner's property or adjacent private property. If such damage is discovered, the Contractor must immediately modify the mowing operation, notify the Owner, and plan for repairs at their own expense, as approved by the Owner.; Trimming and Edging Portions of the mowing areas in which the Contractor cannot reasonably mow, such as signposts, trees, drain inlets, fire hydrants, curbs, walls, shall be trimmed or edged with a string trimmer. The trimming or edging shall be performed every second mowing, beginning with the first mowing of the season, and shall be completed within twenty-four (24) hours of the mowing of that area. The trimming or edging shall not result in any damage to the Owner's property or adjacent private property. If such damage is discovered, the Contractor must immediately modify the trimming/edging operation, notify the Owner, and plan for repairs at their own expense, as approved by the Owner.; Herbicide Application When directed by the Owner, the Contractor shall apply a selective broadleaf herbicide, such as a 2-4-D Amine or equivalent. Ester products will not be allowed. The areas of application shall be directed by the Owner and are attached for more information.; Persons applying the herbicide shall be certified in the application of such chemicals. Proof of certification shall be included with the bid submission. The Contractor shall follow label instructions and all applicable laws and regulations, and keep accurate records, which may be reviewed by the Owner or its designee. The Contractor shall make any notifications and post any warning signs, as required by applicable laws and regulations.; Rip Rap and Complete Kill Areas When directed by the Owner, the Contractor shall apply a herbicide safe for use in aquatic areas, such as glyphosate or equivalent. Complete kill areas generally include rip-rapped areas within the mowing areas, as shown on the attached maps. The area of application shall include all rip rap and slope to the waterline. Waterline will vary, dependent upon rainfall conditions. The Owner will direct at least one application per season.; Persons applying the herbicide shall be certified in the application of such chemicals. Proof of certification shall be included with the bid submission. The Contractor shall follow label instructions and all applicable laws and regulations, and keep accurate records, which may be reviewed by the Owner or its designee.
