Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work closely with City departments and attend frequent meetings with department personnel. Establish and maintain communication with trail users’ groups by attending meetings, reviewing minutes, and providing briefs on trails issues. Determine low cost/no cost options in the Trails Master Plan for implementation. Define potential trail corridors and establish liaison within city departments to protect them during adjacent development. Provide input concerning the impact of requested street vacations and disposition of city land on the Trails Master Plan. Inspect trails, by foot or bike, regularly to ensure safe conditions. Identify and coordinate needed repair, maintenance, or pruning. Provide quarterly trail condition reports. Coordinate volunteer activities. Work closely with Hot Springs Friends of the Parks and the Parks and Trails Advisory Committee on promotional, fundraising, and competitive events involving the trails. Assist in the layout of new trails to ensure connectivity where applicable, and to ensure their construction will provide a usable, sustainable trail. Assist in the preparation of maps of new trails. Establish and maintain liaison with land managers, government officials, and board members concerning trail issues. Assist in trail grants by providing data for submissions, making recommendations for future projects, and researching additional trails grant opportunities.
