Specifications include, but are not limited to: Texas WIC wants to develop a new “Redemption Tool” that can be integrated into the existing portal. The proposed “Redemption tool” must be available through smartphone native application (in both Android and IOS) and also be available through the client’s web browser. The existing portal has a single sign-on that grants each user seamless access to components that provide these features: 1. Store Locator; 2. Clinic Locator; 3. Appointments page where the user can schedule new appointments or view currently scheduled appointments and reschedule or cancel those appointments when necessary; 4. Page where the user can upload documents regarding their certification; 5. Shopping Guide that educates the user on WIC-approved foods and on specific approved brands at the selected store; 6. Product Scanner that tells the user whether the scanned UPC is a WIC-Approved food item; 7. List of the client or family's assumed available benefits as determined by Texas' MOSAIC system. (Because Texas WIC uses smart card EBT technology, the actual benefit balance is stored on the client's EBT smart card, and redemptions are typically not reflected in MOSAIC for two to three days.); 8. Grocery list that the client has selected from the remaining benefits as shown in the app; and 9. Fruit and Veggie Calculator that the client can use to track a running total of selected cash-value-benefit (CVB) items such as fresh fruits and vegetables.
