Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing a complete plan for identifying potential recipients, making applications for those identified, and pursuing any subsequent activities such as Reconsideration Hearings, hearings before Administrative Law Judges, and other necessary appeals procedures.; B. The contractor will pursue SSI claims for identified children in OCS custody and for children in the process of exiting custody with approval from the OCS designee during the life of the contract. This may come from a contractor review or specific referral from OCS.; C. In conjunction with the OCS designee and staff, the contractor will identify children who have deceased parents to ensure they receive RSDI benefits. If there are no survivor benefits, the contractor will investigate and file applications for those benefits upon OCS request.; D. The contractor will conduct an annual on-site review in Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks, and Juneau. The OCS designee will pull a list of all children in custody by field office location, do a preliminary screening for referral and have the case files in the regional office by the date of the on-site review. This list will be furnished to the contractor and the regional office. The contractor will arrange the on-site reviews on dates mutually agreed upon with the regional Children’s Services Manager. The resulting list will be open to adjustment by OCS designee if factors emerge that require a change in prioritization. Changes to the on-site review may be made in consultation between the OCS designee and the contractor; E. The contractor and OCS designee will arrive at an agreed upon arrangement as to which cases will be pursued and in what order.
