Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will perform a survey of the bird population that utilizes the SMR. The focus will be to develop a list of species utilizing the site, with special emphasis on detection of rare, threatened, and endangered (RTE) species and their habitats. The survey will also record the GPS location of species observed, and delineate habitat of RTE species (if applicable). The surveyor may use existing resources of the property including previous bird surveys conducted onsite, aerial imagery, maps of habitat and management zones, and history of management activities. The project will be primarily composed of migration, breeding, nocturnal surveys and report writing. Migration surveys will include weekly surveys during April and May and again during mid-August through the end of October. Each survey will be composed of a simple meander survey, rather than point counts due to the small size of the SMR. For each bird recorded, other ancillary details will be gathered such as behavior (if notable) and habitat.
