Specifications include, but are not limited to: Replace the old, shuttered facility with a new facility with an operational ability to meet the needs of the local community, surrounding communities and the visitors/travelers to the service area. NNCHD owns the property on which the old NRMC building (approx. 33,000sqft) is located. Additionally, on that property are several ancillary buildings, one of which is a modular clinic that has been recently remodeled by NNCHD to provide for minimal delivery of healthcare. It is important to understand that this area is deemed a ‘frontier’ community, not even reaching the demographics of what’s considered rural. During this effort, the old hospital will need to be demolished and removed. Based on the FCA, the building has various forms of hazardous material, those expected in 1970’s construction, that will need to be remediated. The current vision is that the modular clinic will remain after the new construction and be used for supporting spaces.
