Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) seeks to retain a construction manager-at-risk for a structural shoring project at AISD's Austin Middle School. Austin Middle School is an educational facility constructed in 1951. Most of the ground floor is a structured floor over a crawl space. The ground floor structure consists of a concrete deck over open-web steel joists supported on perimeter concrete grade beams and interior steel beams. Corrosion of the steel structure has occurred throughout the crawl space, and some areas require temporary shoring to facilitate the continued safe occupancy of the building. This project consists of temporary shoring to be designed and installed in accordance with the performance criteria on the included drawing. Temporary shoring will be required to remain in place for a period of 3 to 5 years while permanent solutions are being developed and implemented.
