Specifications include, but are not limited to: One or more companies that can provide Mobile Wireless Testing Support. The State expects to conduct drive testing along all federal aid highways (approximately 5,000 miles) throughout the state through partnerships with various state agencies. The State will obtain smartphone handsets with service from all mobile wireless providers. The State seeks a contractor to provide software and support to collect data on the availability of wireless services during these state-conducted drive tests. The tests will be conducted on six facilities-based carriers operating in Vermont, including: AT&T, FirstNet, TMobile, Verizon, US Cellular, VTel Wireless, with driving at approximately 40 MPH with all six phones running data sequences during all drive tests. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by May 2022. The project will likely result in at least 200,000 individual speed tests, over the course of at least 30 days. The proposal should allow for the testing to be extended to perform additional tests over the summer of 2022.
