Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide urban forestry assistance to communities within DNRC’s Southern and Eastern area offices. The UCF program is one of several programs under the Forestry Assistance Bureau, Forestry Division of the DNRC. UCF Program expectations are organized and linked directly to program goals & objectives listed in the Montana State Forest Action Plan, along with Forestry Assistance Bureau strategic plan. Much of the timeline for work is cyclic and follows predetermined program calendars (grants cycles, field work, meetings, etc.) UCF Program Description: The Urban and Community Forestry Program provides technical and financial assistance, education, planning assistance and volunteer coordination to local governments, community leaders and volunteer groups. The UCF Program promotes best practices resulting in attractive, healthy, sustainable, and safe community forests.
