Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 Recruitment of Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing representing all 5 regions of New Hampshire across the state, to participate in a web based professional development that provides training about how to choose, administer, and interpret evaluations based on a wide range of assessments for students with hearing loss. 3.2 Involve the Project Manager from the Bureau of Special Education Support for approval of resources and deliverables prior to use. 3.3 Develop and facilitate a four part series of two-hour live web based trainings that are accessible on the New Hampshire Department of Education Learning Management System and made available to New Hampshire Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The series will focus on how to choose, administer, and interpret evaluations using a selection of assessment tools that focus various areas of development including but not limited to Auditory status and auditory function; Vision; Spoken Language; American Sign Language; Speech ; Cognitive and Academic Performance ; Social , emotional, and behavioral; Self-determination and self- advocacy. The series will provide training to the Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide consultation, evaluation, and interpretation of assessment results to help school teams understand the impact of hearing loss on the student’s academic, cognitive, functional, communicative, and social emotional development. 3.4 Involve site-based administrators and key participating educators to discuss further scaling-up and sustaining the use of the training specific to teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing in their expertise to support school teams to understand the impact of hearing loss in academic, speech , language, social emotional and cognitive development . 3.5 Host a closing conference to provide summary of completed activities, reflection of practices learned to understand the impact of hearing loss hearing loss in academic, speech, language, social emotional and cognitive development.
