Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Operating Conditions & Requirements at the Alburgh Welcome Center 1.1. The contractor shall recruit and hire employees with demonstrated: 1.2. Ability to read and interpret maps, 1.3. Oral and written communication skills, 1.4. Ability to work effectively with the public, 1.5. Knowledge of Vermont attractions and events, 1.6. Skills in use of information technologies, including operations of facsimile machines, computers, and the use of computerized travel information software. 2. Employees must be presentable and clean at all times and will: 2.1. Open the facility promptly at 9:00 AM, 2.2. Raise the U.S. flag and the Vermont flag each morning and lower them at sunset or as directed by the Department’s flag notifications. 2.3. Maintain attractive, well organized information displays, 2.4. Take reasonable steps to assure traveler safety as required, including shoveling and salting walkways when necessary.
