Specifications include, but are not limited to: The specific mission of the BRS VR program is to assist individuals with disabilities to prepare for, obtain, maintain, or regain employment in competitive, integrated settings. VR staff require a broad knowledge range to serve a highly diverse range of participants with disabilities. The VR program serves a diverse population of job seekers with a wide range of disabilities and barriers, who are seeking employment in a wide range of industries from entry-level low-skilled jobs, to trade and technical jobs, to professional level careers. BRS employs approximately 300 field staff, including VR Counselors, VR Supervisors, VR Case Coordinators, Secretaries, and Region Managers, and 25 central office staff. The mission of BDDS is to provide services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that enable them to live as independently as possible in their communities. BDDS assists individuals in receiving community supports and residential services using a person-centered plan to help determine which services are needed and who can best provide them.
