Specifications include, but are not limited to: Vendor will: • Conduct outreach activities to other states and establish contact with each state’s self-advocacy groups that are led by people with disabilities. • Utilize a variety of techniques to include but not limited to focus groups, social media, email, phone calls, networking, and in-person and virtual meetings, conferences, and town hall listening sessions. • Inform DDC Social Service s Administrator of outreach efforts via CC or informing via email when contact is made and what the outcomes were. • Arrange virtual town halls with self-advocates from other states, as well as Delaware, to find out: o If they were to create a self-advocacy organization, what type of organization would it be? (e.g. formal vs. informal, focused on policy or focused on fun, a little both of both, etc.) o What types of things would their ideal group focus on? (e.g. disability rights, dating, education, improving disability policy) o What would the ideal group “look like”? Who is the Chair, Vice-Chair, who are the members? Are people without disabilities welcome? If so, in what capacity? o How often would they like the group to meet? o What would be the goals of the group? (e.g. “establish ourselves as a cadre of people with disabilities who are able to provide legislative testimony”, or “to have fun and build relationships”)
