Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Texas Libraries (UTL), Dolph Briscoe Center for American History (CAH), and the Harry Huntt Ransom Humanities Research Center (HRC), as separate UT units, acquire, maintain, and store its collections in locations on the Main Campus and at PRC. As identified in a 2015 Collections Master Plan, which quantified the near and long‐term facility needs for all three groups, this project addresses permanent storage needs by expansion of the existing Library Storage Facility at PRC with addition of the LSF4 module and additional types of storage spaces. In accordance with the findings of previously performed studies, the new LSF4 module will total approximately 39,000 – 44,000 GSF. Budget will dictate the final total square footage. The project budget is $32,000,000 with a CCL of $23,400,000. LSF4 shall include a high bay cool storage module, separate low bay cool and cold storage spaces, processing space and a new loading dock, a researcher reading room, a circulation spine and a new public entry. The total gross square footage shall be validated by the design team in the programming phase of the project. The approximate gross square footage requirements were derived from a 2015 master planning exercise and 2017 programming effort (see Appendix 5). The HVAC system shall be required to meet specific design specifications to maintain temperature and relative humidity conditions within the specified areas. The high‐density storage module shall also require a floor flatness that matches or exceeds the facilities existing concrete floors. LSF4 flatwork shall be specified and installed to meet the ASTM E1155 Standard.
