Specifications include, but are not limited to: All tires initially furnished shall be new (New retreads are acceptable) and all tires furnished shall meet all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. All tires shall be special transit radial mileage tires and be capable of being and recapped and shall be rated for legal highway speed in Alaska (currently top speed is 65 MPH). Lessor shall identify which tires, if any, are capable of being regrooved. B. Recap tires and regrooved tires may be used only on the rear axle of transit vehicles and such recap or regrooved tires used shall be properly mated and in a condition suitable to the PTD. All recap or regrooved tires shall comply with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. C. Cost for recapping or regrooving tires shall be borne by the Lessor.
