Air Cleaner: 2 stage, dry cartridge type with pre-cleaner and air filter restriction indicator. Fuel Filter: Primary and secondary fuel filter with water separator. Fuel tank: 25 gallon minimum with level indicator and locking cap. Shutdowns: Engine shall have an automatic shutdown system for high engine temp and low oil pressure. Coolant shall be permanent type rated to -50 degrees F. Winterization: Shall include block heater. The engine shall be fully enclosed to reduce noise and have lockable doors to protect against vandalism. CHASSIS: Weight: 7,400 to 9,000 pounds. Axle: 8,000 to 10,000 pound torsion axle design. The axle shall be rated at a capacity higher than the weight of the trailer. Shall include electric wheel brakes and breakaway. Wheels and tires shall be rated for loads greater than trailer weight. The unit shall include a matching spare wheel and tire. Spare shall be mounted on the trailer. 2.5-inch pintle hitch with height adjustment. Shall include safety chains properly rated for the weight of the trailer. Heavy-duty tongue jack, 5,000 pounds minimum rating. Minimum 12 gauge steel fenders with splash guards. The unit shall be properly prepped, primed, and painted with an industrial urethane finish. The color shall be the manufacturer's standard color; yellow or orange preferred. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: All trailer lighting shall be LED and all rear lighting shall be protected from damage during operation. All wiring routing and connectors shall be of the highest grade offered by the manufacturer. All connections that are exposed to cold, moisture or any other environmental conditions shall be sealed. Routing through structural members to be protected by grommets. Lighting Connection shall be 7 pin RV type. Shall include license plate holder with light. Controls shall include an hour meter, tachometer and temperature gauges at a minimum. CHIPPER: Drum diameter shall be a minimum of 22 inches. Drum width shall be a minimum of 18.75 inches. Drum shall be supported by greaseable pillow block bearings on both sides. Knives shall be double edged and a minimum 5/8-inch thick. Infeed opening shall be 15 x 18 inches minimum. FEED SYSTEM: The unit shall be equipped with a hydraulic infeed system. Two hydraulically driven feed rollers powered by two hydraulic motors. The feed system shall have an adjustable feed rate. Unit shall be equipped with an automatic feed system that senses engine RPM and allows the feed system to momentarily reverse under excessive load. Restarting without operator interface. Feed pressure shall be accomplished by spring or hydraulic pressure. Unit shall have a safety control bar that is continuous across the top and down both sides of the infeed chute. This bar controls the feed system. Control shall have forward, reverse, neutral, and stop.
