Specifications include, but are not limited to: 25-ton air handler; 1.1 Vendor is to supply all equipment and materials for a complete and operating air conditioning system. 1.2 Vendor is to demolish existing equipment and ductwork not being reused and remove it to a location designated by TDCJ representative. Take care when removing ductwork so new ductwork will attach to existing 54x20 duct openings. 1.3 Vendor is to supply all lifting equipment and transporting equipment to unload and install new packaged HVAC unit as designated on the plans. Place on existing concrete equipment pad located per plans. 1.4 Provide all duct and duct transitions to connect new unit to existing 54x20 duct using galvanized metal ductwork with 2” thick insulation liner for R-8 outdoor rating. Use appropriate-sized flex connector at each equipment connection. Make sure all ductwork is properly supported and sealed against air leakage or water penetration per duct specifications. 1.5 Run necessary electrical conduit and wiring as shown on the plans to existing electrical panels to provide necessary power to new HVAC unit. Electrical power is to be connected to the emergency backup power system. Make all electrical connections as required for a complete operating system. 1.6 Proposed possible routing of new 1 ½” conduit from Panel MDP-DE to the new equipment pad is shown on the plans. The proposed route is to go above the ceiling to the outside wall and then exposed on the exterior wall above the doors to the equipment location. Verify the proposed routing during the pre-bid site visit and provide alternate routing, if necessary, for TDCJ Engineering approval.
