Specifications include, but are not limited to: Statewide Resource Sharing System The proposed system will provide statewide resource sharing solution capable of accommodating interlibrary loan between all Vermont public, school, academic, and special libraries and which can provide access for all libraries, regardless of local ILS, underlying technologies, or staff technical expertise. It will need to have configurable options at both the local library level and system-wide level. The system will need to provide the following capabilities: • All users will be able to search the shared catalog information of participating libraries. • No limit to the number of simultaneous users. • Patron placed requests. • Ability for library staff and patrons to track an individual loan through all stages of the process. • Real-time searching and status checking for library materials via the connections through library ILS systems. • Provide an alternate option for adding records from non-automated or non-z39.50 capable library catalogs. • Ability to transfer information about loans across other ILL systems such as OCLC WorldShare, ILLiad, or Tipasa. • Ability to filter search results by author, title, owning library, etc. • Search results that consolidate or deduplicate records with the same title, author, and format. • Ability to look up institutional information for each participating library – including closed periods, schedule, contact information, lending policies, etc.
