Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1.1. The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (hereinafter the “State”) currently maintains umbrella contracts for several categories of professional services and now seeks to modify Legal Service categories and qualify and/or re‐qualify contractors. The umbrella contracts enable the State to quickly and efficiently complete legal services projects. Contractors awarded a contract must agree to the State terms and conditions and have their insurance and contract paperwork on file with the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation. Contract maximum will be a sum not to exceed $150,000.00. The contract maximum is not a guaranteed amount. The State will make payments against the contract for services delivered or performed as requested. 1.1.1.1. Through this Request for Proposal (RFP) the State is seeking proposals from contractors who will be reviewed and pre‐qualified to provide the State of Vermont with Legal services as described in this RFP. Contractors meeting the qualification requirements described in this RFP may receive an umbrella contract, to be utilized by the State as projects arise for State land conservation projects including fee and / or conservation easement acquisition, and land transactions on State owned lands. 1.1.1.2. This RFP will result in the award of umbrella contracts to multiple Contractors. The number of contracts awarded may vary based on the anticipated needs of the State, and to increase opportunity for work for the firms who have submitted proposals. The State reserves the right to limit the number of contractors retained by the State.
