Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor shall provide medical staff on premises at the Shelter 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. 2. Contractor’s employees performing services under this contract must be licensed healthcare professionals holding, at minimum, State of Alaska Emergency Medical Technician certifications. The Contractor’s provision of EMT services shall be in accordance with State of Alaska EMT statutes, EMT’s will follow the Contractor’s Standing Medical Orders in compliance with Alaska law. At least one of Contractor’s on-site Certified EMT staff per shift shall have a minimum one year experience as a certified EMT medical provider 3. Contractor’s employees are to be responsible for handling and discarding hazardous material (HAZMAT) to include anything that potentially can affect EMT with blood-borne pathogens such as needles or fluid-soaked material. Needles are to be discarded in an FDA cleared sharps container whereas fluid soaked material are to be discarded in a designated hazardous waste bag such as biohazard bags, clear trash bags etc. All hazardous material is to be discarded off the site as directed by Contractor’s Standing Medical Orders. 4. The EMT shall determine when a person presents COVID-19 symptoms to warrant transport to a designated hotel, and if other non-COVID medical issues are presenting, whether emergency medical transport or a routine referral to a healthcare provider may be appropriate. 5. Contractor shall provide and maintain all medical equipment and supplies necessary for the screening, monitoring, and care/treatment of injured or sick people on the premises, as directed by Contractor’s Standing Medical Orders.
