Specifications include, but are not limited to: Road Sweeper, 2 Way, Self-Propelled, Diesel, with Sprinkler System; 1. General: This specification is intended to cover a four wheel, self-propelled, two-way road sweeper with hydrostatic drive, having a chassis designed with broom between front and rear axles below operator’s platform. 2. Engine: Water cooled, four cycle diesel developing a minimum of 74 horsepower at rated RPM. Shall be equipped with 12-volt electric system including starter, battery, alternator and charge indicator. Shall have lube oil and fuel filter with replaceable elements, electric hour meter (oil pressure or fuel solenoid actuated), engine oil pressure and temperature gauges, tachometer, muffler and fuel tank as regularly furnished. Cooling system shall have anti-freeze protection to -20°F, or lower. 3. Engine Air Filtration System: Shall be equipped with a dry type air cleaner system with replaceable dual filter elements and pre-cleaner. Shall have an extended air stack which places the pre-cleaner at or above the top level of the cab. 4. Engine Shutdown: Shall be equipped with an automatic shutdown system which senses low oil pressure or high coolant temperature. 5. Transmission: Hydrostatic drive to rear axle. Transmission shall have a minimum of two (2) ranges with high range providing variable speeds up to 20 mph. Forward and reverse travel shall be controlled by means of foot pedal controls. 6. Rear Axle: Differential type with semi or full floating axles. Axle assembly furnished shall be heavy duty design with adequate load rating for the machine furnished.
