Specifications include, but are not limited to:. Phase 2 of the Sourdough Fuels Reduction Project is located within E1/2 SE1/4 Section 7, W1/2 Section 17, and E1/2 Section 18 T3S R6E on City of Bozeman property. Approximately 5,449 tons of Douglas-fir sawlogs and 956 tons of Lodgepole Pine sawlogs are Service Contracted for helicopter removal along with approximately 472 tons of merchantable non-sawlog Other Material. The Other Material largely consists of down or standing dead Lodgepole Pine of merchantable quality. The unit price bid for Sawlogs and Other Materials is on a per ton basis for timber cut, flown and decked at a log landing site. The Service Contractor may select the final destination, at its sole discretion, for all material hauled from the Service Contract area. . This Service Contract contains a road maintenance package. A separate lump sum bid item will be required for the road maintenance of a private access road servicing the “upper landing/decking” location and the Sourdough Canyon Trail that serves the “lower landing/decking” location. The “upper landing/decking” location is being completed under a separate contract that is currently in effect (Phase 1 of the Sourdough Fuels Reduction Project) with a contracted completion deadline of September 30, 2021. The “lower landing location” is situated within an existing meadow near the City’s Sourdough Creek municipal water supply intake adjacent to Sourdough Canyon Trail.
