Specifications include, but are not limited to: Create detailed Landscape Map of all early childhood courses, degrees, and certificates offered by public and private Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) in Rhode Island (RI). The map should include the following about each course, degree and/or certificate: a. Information on content, age focus (infant/toddler or overall child development) and method of delivery (in person, online, hybrid). b. Whether it is recognized by BrightStars, RI’s quality rating and improvement system for childcare. c. Whether it is aligned to RI’s Workforce Knowledge and Competency (WKC) and Rhode Island’s Early Learning Development Standards (RIELDS). d. Whether there are opportunities for providing credits for prior learning. e. Where there are additional support services offered to participating students before, during or after coursework such as pre-training, on ramping, tutoring, professional development counseling, book stipends, etc. f. Detailed demographics (including race, gender, income, language, if possible) on: i. Capacity ii. Enrollment iii. Completion iv. Employment post-completion 2. Identify non-credit based options for professional development and how they may/have already lead into credit. 3. Provide detailed identification of gaps in the current system and analysis of which part of pipeline is the “leakiest.” 4. Conclusions about the existing pathways within institutions of higher education and potential improved or new pathway options
