Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Contractor shall provide PM-10 efficient street sweepers three (3) times per week on days designated by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) State’s Representative. (Including holidays) Contractor shall remove litter, leaves, dirt, and sand from curb/gutters and entire road surfaces (4 lanes) as directed by the State’s Representative. Service shall be provided on Pier Avenue from the State Park Kiosk to Air Park Drive, San Luis Obispo County. The distance is approximately 800 feet. b. Hours of operation shall be between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sweeping must be completed before 8 a.m. due to street parking restrictions which are lifted after 9 a.m. c. Contractor to remove sand to original surface (bring tractor) 2. Equipment a. All equipment used for the performance of this contract shall be standard. b. PM-10 efficient street sweepers compliant heavy duty mechanical broom sweeping, or air/vacuum, equipment necessary to properly clean street of litter, dirt, sand, and other debris. c. All equipment must be properly registered and insured in accordance with State and local laws. Sweeping equipment and or disposal trucks shall be equipped with adequate warning devices and lights for safe operation and shall meet all vehicle operation requirements of the California Department of Motor Vehicles and the California Highway Patrol. d. Equipment must be well maintained and perform reliably as scheduled. e. The equipment operator shall always possess a valid California Driver’s License of a class required to operate such equipment. 3. Disposal a. Contractor shall dispose of all debris collected by the sweeping in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. Contractor shall haul debris to a properly licensed disposal site. No dumping on State property. The cost of disposal, including dump fees shall be included in the contract cost. Contractor shall provide monthly landfill disposal slips along with invoices, for verification of dumping. b. Contractor shall provide service logs of dates and times they were on site. Using GPS data when available. c. If roadways are covered in sand and it requires the contractor make multiple trips for disposal (meaning hopper box is full), then work still must be complete by 8 a.m. 4. Safety a. Sweeping shall be conducted in the direction of travel and shall cause the least possible obstruction and inconvenience to public traffic. Water shall be used to minimize airborne dust from sweeping.
