Specifications include, but are not limited to: Design-Build (DB) entities to value engineer the design and construct the Bridge Group 96 - Rt. 146 Reconstruction Project (the “Project”) on a fixed term/firm price basis. The project (the “Project”) includes, but is not limited to: replacing the Louisquisset Pike North & South Bridge No.’s 074801 & 074821 superstructures and piers and rehabilitating the abutments and other substructure elements; completely replacing the Spring Brook Bridge No. 044001; constructing a new flyover bridge, approach walls, and adjacent CD Roads to carry Route 146 Northbound and Southbound over Sayles Hill Road (Proposed Bridge No. 134201); performing preservation repairs for Rt 146 Ramp Bridge No. 098701, and Reservoir Bridge No. 018801; realigning the Route146/146A interchange; designing, constructing, and subsequently removing a temporary signalized intersection on Route 146 near Sayles Hill Road to permit left turn and U-Turn movements during construction of the proposed Sayles Hill Flyover Bridge, approaches, and CD roads; realigning and widening the off-ramp from Route 146 Southbound to I-295 Southbound; retaining wall construction; temporary and permanent utility relocation; modification and installation of traffic signals; installing new signs and sign structures; reconstructing, replacing, and/or installing drainage structures; installing friction course to select offramps between Providence and Massachusetts State Line; reconstructing a weigh station along Route 146 Southbound between Routes 146A and 104; installing wrong-way detection systems on Route 146 between Providence and Massachusetts State Line at select locations; installing RIPTA Bus-on-Shoulder on Route 146 southbound between Mineral Spring Avenue to I-95; installing underground fiber communications lines on Route 146 between I-295 and Massachusetts State Line; roadway construction and reconstruction; and micromilling and placement of new friction course pavement on Route 146 between I-295 and the Massachusetts State Line, and also on I-295 near the Route 146 interchange. The award of the Contract will be made, and the performance of the Contract carried out in accordance with what is commonly known as DB method of contracting.
