Specifications include, but are not limited to: ommunication tools, and a collaborative system for IEP development and implementation that covers skills from EE - 12+. Special Education Curriculum Specialists are looking for the following components: ● Comprehensive lessons in all subject areas ● Multiple Grade Levels (Pre-K through Transition) ● Ability to differentiate lessons built into product ● Engaging student materials that are age-appropriate ● Lessons that utilize current events ● Ease of teacher access and maneuverability in the product ● In-Time Data Collection ● Ability to build individualized progress monitoring ● Built-in student benchmarks/assessments ● Technology or paper-based option ● Meaningful access to the general education curriculum for learners with complex learning needs ● Aligned to the TEKS ● Reinforces life skills that are part of the student’s IEP ● Administrator access that allows for data reports at the ready WFISD Centralized Program needs: ● A complete curriculum solution for students who participate in the district centralized programs of LEAP, LIFE, and LIFE/BASE as well as for students who participate in functional classes or self-contained settings. ● Social skills and life skills embedded into the curriculum ● Paper based and technology option ● Communication and assistive technology supports embedded throughout the curriculum ● A program would serve 32 classrooms and approximately 320 students. ● A program would be needed on a yearly basis.
