Specifications include, but are not limited to: engineering services for a network of multimodal transportation infrastructure improvements connecting Pine Street and Battery Street in the City of Burlington. The Municipality is seeking a Consultant with strong expertise in design, planning, and Local/State/Federal permitting as related to transportation, rail road, environmental, stormwater, utility, public outreach, geotechnical, and structural. The Consultant will need to coordinate/incorporate lighting design done by others (Burlington Electric Department) in the overall project design. The purpose of the Railyard Enterprise Project is to support economic development, improve livability of the surrounding neighborhoods, enhance multimodal travel connectivity in the Burlington Waterfront South area, and improve intermodal connections to the Burlington Railyard, a National Highway System (NHS)-designated intermodal facility. The project encompasses a network of multimodal transportation infrastructure improvements connecting Pine Street and Battery Street in the City of Burlington. The City of Burlington, in partnership with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC), and in close cooperation with the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) completed an enhanced scoping process under FHWA’s Every Day Counts/Planning and Environmental Linkages (EDC/PEL) initiative as well as a Phase II supplemental scoping effort for this project.
