Specifications include, but are not limited to:. A. The Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (TMWRF) will be conducting demonstration/pilot trials of centrifuges to compare dewatering performance of various centrifuges on their current sludges and allow finalization of the attached draft Specification 46 76 33 for purchasing of a new centrifuge. 1. The previous testing, conducted in 2019, has informed the expectations for performance shown in the attached draft technical specifications however due to recent main treatment train process changes, the current sludges have been judged substantially different than the sludges previously tested thus requiring additional testing, even by those who participated in previous testing efforts. 2. Currently, anaerobically digested primary sludge and undigested thickened waste activated sludge are combined and dewatered using two existing centrifuges. In the near term, TMWRF intends to add a third centrifuge to provide additional capacity and redundancy while maintaining operation of the existing units. 3. All MANUFACTURERs who can show that they have a full-scale unit that can fit in the space available in the existing Solids Handling Building will be considered for invitation to pilot test. 4. Only MANUFACTURERs who successfully participated in this demonstration/pilot testing will be considered during finalization of the attached draft Specification 46 76 33. B. The Demonstration/Pilot Testing is required to: 1. Confirm minimum performance requirements are likely to be met by equipment during Guaranteed Process Acceptance Testing (GPAT) under actual full-scale installed conditions. 2. Provide MANUFACTURER-specific information to allow draft Specification 46 76 33 to be finalized. 3. Familiarize TMWRF staff with the equipment. 4. Produce testing data and reports to maintain operations and performance testing transparency. C. The current and planned equipment on the ground and centrifuge floors of the existing Solids Dewatering Building impose substantial constraints on full scale equipment that can safely be installed and maintained. Manufacturers are directed to review section 1.04 of Draft Specification 46 76 33. As noted in this section the centrifuge will have to be shown to be in compliance with the physical limitations imposed by the building. D. The full-size centrifuge shall be capable of being installed in the existing Solids Dewatering Building without structural modifications to facilitate installation or to provide additional safe operating space around the unit and its accessories. 1. The limits imposed by the physical dimensions of the existing facility are detailed in draft Specifications 46 76 33. 2. The physical limitations imposed by the existing facility affect both the maximum equipment dimensions allowed during the lift of the centrifuge over existing centrifuges and the safe working space required at final centrifuge location. 3. A Lifting Plan and an Installation Plan are required to show the proposed full-size equipment can be safely installed within the existing structure prior to pilot testing of the pilot-size unit.
