Specifications include, but are not limited to: Equivalent items may be bid, however all equivalent item bids MUST include documentation to prove equivalency. The final decision on equivalency will be determined by the requesting Department. Bidders must belong to the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and be approved for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing. Bidders are asked to provide a bid, on a per sample bases, for analyzing brain tissue samples from white-tailed deer, moose, and other cervids. The per sample cost should be based on analyzing 600 lymph nodes from white-tailed deer using the approved ELISA assay, and 50 obex from moose or other Cervids using approved immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques. The per sample cost should include administrative and test reporting costs. In a normal year, tissue samples will be submitted to the laboratory by Jan 15th and results would be needed by May 1 of the same year. All CWD testing will follow USDA approved analytical and quality control procedures. Bids will be evaluated based upon the total cost of 600 ELISA and 50 IHC tests for one year, defined as the unit prices below multiplied by the estimated number of yearly samples listed below. Once totals are calculated based upon the estimated number of samples below, the master agreement will be submitted to the low bidder.
