Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2 – 1.5’ deep X 2.5’ wide x 15’ long steel reinforced precast concrete sills. Sills shall have adequate reinforcing for handling weights and loads as specified. Sills will utilize a minimum of 3000 psi concrete and include steel reinforcing. Billet-steel bars shall be Grade 60, conforming to AASHTO M31. • Bearing & anchor assemblies to include: o Bearing Pads: consisting of commercial grade neoprene utilizing virgin natural rubber (polyisoprene) with a Shore A Durometer of 50-60, Grade 4. The bearing pads will be 1/2" thick pads a minimum 12" long x the same width as the stringer flanges. The pads are placed between the pre-cast sills and the steel bearing plates on the stringers. o Anchor Rods: A193-B7 grade galvanized rods; o Epoxy [for use with anchor rods] - RedHead A7+ epoxy; o Assemblies may be integrated with pre-cast sills, or separate, at fabricators option (pending final design). • 15’ clear travel width. Clear travel width is the width of the bridge deck that can be driven on. It is the width between the inside faces of the curb system and is sometimes also referred to as “useable width” or “lane width”. The overall bridge width shall not exceed 16’ from outside of curb system to outside edge. • The bridge will be designed to support HL93 capacity with no speed restriction (full impact loading). HL93 is a national bridge design loading specified by AASHTO (American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials). This spec is designed for a 36 ton tractor trailer plus a uniform/linear load over the entire length of the bridge. • Deflection may exceed AASHTO suggested values.
