Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The typical section of the pavement structure is to consist of 4 inches of compacted type 2 asphaltic concrete hot mix binder course, 8 inches of compacted class 7 aggregate base course, and prepared subgrade. 2. The Contractor is responsible for all site preparation, grading, earthwork, and subgrade preparation. All earthwork to comply with ARDOT Section 210. 3. Contractor is to provide positive drainage across the site. No areas are to hold water. The minimum grade across the paved surface is 2 percent. 4. Subgrade preparation shall meet ARDOT Section 214. All organics are to be removed from the subgrade. All subgrade is to be compacted. 5. The City may require proof rolling of the subgrade prior to placement of aggregate base course. 6. Any soft areas are to be removed and stabilized as required by the City at no additional cost. 7. If the IN-SITU subgrade is rock, a minimum of 4 inches of aggregate base can be placed over the rock subgrade. All soil subgrade areas are to have a minimum of 8 inches of compacted aggregate base placed over the subgrade prior to paving.
