Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project will provide approximately 210,000 gross square feet of critically needed space that will serve as the focus for education and research related to chemical and petroleum engineering within the Cockrell School of Engineering. The Project will be designed with consideration given to a 50-year lifespan using commercial standards for building systems, finishes and infrastructure. The design will include flexible classrooms and open office areas to maximize flexibility. Laboratories will be designed to meet current needs for wet labs, but as generic as possible to maximize flexibility for future uses. Abatement and demolition of the SER is a requirement of the Project.
