Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Laredo seeks qualifications for Women’s Health Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians to provide continuum of care through an array of women’s health, maternity, and family planning related services to lowincome Texas women and access to safe and reliable services, including general screening, breast and/or cervical cancer screening, diagnostic, follow-up services, appropriate referrals, along with, public information and education in order to avert unintended pregnancies and positively affect the outcome of future pregnancies and the health and well-being of women and their families. 1. Provide family planning services and women's preventive health care, including comprehensive care, all family planning methods and appropriate education, including: a. Annual family planning and preventive healthcare visit; b. Pregnancy testing and counseling; c. Contraceptive services, all methods except elective abortion and emergency contraception, including necessary follow-up and surveillance; and d. Certain health screening and diagnostic services, as indicated: i. Screening and diagnosis of cervical cancer ii. Limited treatment of cervical dysplasia iii. Breast cancer screening and diagnosis iv. Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases and infections (STD/STI) v. HIV screening vi. Screening for postpartum depression vii. Diabetes screening viii. Hypertension screening ix. Screening for elevated cholesterol
