Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) Review the RTC’s programs in relation to federal legislation and provide ongoing analysis of opportunities and barriers based on the RTC’s priorities. 2) Assist in the development of federal transportation strategies and an advocacy platform to address the near-, mid-, and long-term goals of the RTC to attract federal funds for its programs and initiatives. 3) Provide assistance and work with the Nevada Congressional Delegation and key congressional committees and related subcommittees including but not limited to the following that deal with transportation, funding, technology and infrastructure matters: Senate Finance Committee; Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee; Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee; Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee; House Science, Space, and Technology Committee; and House Appropriations Committee. 4) Serve as a liaison for the RTC and assist in developing key relationships with members of Congress, congressional committees’ staff, and federal agencies including but not limited to the U.S. Department of Transportation and its subdivisions (Federal Transit Administration, Federal Highway Administration, etc.). 5) Arrange meeting appointments and prepare briefing documents with members of Congress and federal agencies as required. 6) Monitor, report, and advise on the development of transportation related legislation, regulations, or policy directives on the federal level that relate to the RTC’s interests and goals.
