Specifications include, but are not limited to: The T.F. Green Airport (Airport) is replacing the existing rapid response system at the Airport. The prompt and efficient response of a modern Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) service depends on the reliability of its communications and alerting system. The Airport’s Fire Department Airport Station is responsible for aircraft emergencies at the Airport. A crash phone system is used to alert Airport personnel of current, or impending, aircraft emergencies at the Airport. When an emergency is declared to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) tower, the tower activates the alert phone from the tower cab. The alert is received at the ARFF stations located at the Airport, as well as Rhode Island Airport Police (RIAP) dispatch. The current system was installed initially in 1984. A new and improved system will add features, improve reliability, ease maintenance, and improve response time. The Airport is seeking a provider to use the latest technology to create a rapid response system that is scalable, easy to maintain, and incorporates user-friendly features. Proposed rapid response equipment should be easily adaptable to various facilities.
