Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Furnish and install 1 new Wilkins 375XL 2” and 1 375 XL 1'” reduced pressure assembly units for irrigation system. 2.New backflow devices will connect to existing irrigation system and be installed at the existing locations. 3.Install 2 new reduced pressure assemblies as per RHA drawing LD1, Uniform Plumbing Code, and the most current requirements of Truckee Meadows Water Authority. 4.Contractor shall install a minimum 4” diameter ABS or PVC pipe sleeve at each valve; sleeves shall be slot cut and saddled over valve and extended to 2” –4” below grade, pipe shall terminate with a threaded clean out plug. Sleeves shall be covered with aminimum 6” diameter Carson irrigation box set flush with adjoining grade. Pipe sleeves shall be staked with 1 #4 rebar extended into native soil and secured with 2 steel bands. Sleeves shall be centered on valves and set plumb. 5.All below grade valves shall be quarter turn brass curb stop valves. Gate valves are not allowed. All Carson boxes shall be furnished with locking covers. 6.Install Guard Shack (800-266-5411), hinged, Model GS-4 backflow enclosure with Polar Parka Model PK-440 insulating cover or RHA approved equal. Install enclosure on 4” thick concrete pad set on 2” of compacted base. Concrete shall be minimum 4000 psi with entrained air and polypropylene fibers.7.Brass pipes should be covered with Polyethylene foam pipe insulation before pouring concrete. 8.Backflow devices must be tested and certified. Contractor shall furnish one signed copy to RHA and one copy to Truckee Meadows Water Authority.9.Contractor to remove 31 existing irrigation valves and legally dispose of offsite. 10.Contractor to supply and install 16 Rainbird 100 PEB/ PESB 1” plastic valves or RHA approved equal per detail drawing. 11.Contractor to supply and install 15 Rainbird XCZ-100-PRB-COM 1” Drip valve assembly or RHA approved equal. Install per detail drawing. 12.Contractorto use DBRY-6 wire splice connectors as described in the Manufactures Installation Manual or RHA approved equal.13.Contractor to restore all existing landscape that is disturbed to its original condition. 14.At the completion of the project, Contractor will run a test of the system, to include turf and drip zones and designations programed in the controllers.15.RHA Inspector to verify correct installation of all components prior to backfill.
