Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will be asked to provide legal services related to state land transactions. These could include completing either marketable or historic title opinions, resolving title issues, drafting deeds and other legal land transaction documents, preparing and reviewing closing documents, purchasing title insurance and representing the state at closing. Following the closing, the Contractor will record the closing documents and provide the state the original closing documents when they are returned from the town. The Contractor may be asked to coordinate closely with the State’s surveyor and State staff, as well as State general counsel, and the representatives and attorneys of the state’s conservation partners.
