Port Houston’s Community Grants Program (Grants Program) with an approved budget of $300,000 (FY 2021), is an outreach initiative focused on investing resources into meaningful projects and programs that enhance the local communities while advancing Port Houston’s mission and vision as a part of the 2020 Strategic Plan. These grants will serve to develop and strengthen partnerships and create greater value for the region. One of Port Houston’s key objectives is to add value in the communities where Port Houston operates and strengthen the region served. The economic well-being, environmental health, and quality of life of the region are all of vital importance to Port Houston. Port Houston is particularly interested in supporting programs or services that align with Port Houston’s current outreach priorities. These priorities include: Community Improvements and Beautification Parks and greenspaces - particularly those in targeted neighborhoods within 3 miles of the HSC Recreational water safety on Galveston Bay Workforce Development STEAM programs that focus on maritime & transportation logistics-related fields or environmental sciences Environmental Stewardship Pollution reduction and related education
