Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide Tower Maintenance and Condition Assessment Services on Communications towers owned by the State of Vermont. Communication towers are continuously exposed to the elements and this exposure could result in damages to the structure. Therefore, per the recommendation contained in both TIA-222F and G Tower Codes require routine inspection. TIA-222G Section 14.0 - "Maintenance and Condition Assessment" states that: "MAINTENANCE AND CONDITION ASSESSMENTS" SHALL BE PERFORMED AS FOLLOWS: • YEAR INTERVALS FOR GUYED MASTS AND 5 YEAR INTERVALS FOR SELF-SUPPORTING STRUCTURES. • AFTER SEVERE WIND AND/OR ICE STORMS OR OTHER EXTREME CONDITIONS. • SHORTER INSPECTION INTERVALS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR CLASS III STRUCTURES AND STRUCTURES IN COASTAL REGIONS, IN CORROSIVE ENVIRONEMNTS, AND IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FREQUENT VANDALISM.
