Specifications include, but are not limited to: SpecializedChild CareTransportation ServicesThe Vermont Department for Childrenand Families, Child Development Division (CDD), offers transportationfor children who are determined eligible for transportation services through the CDD Child Care Financial Assistance Program. Eligible children include those with a Protective Services, Family Support, or child with Special Health Needs service need that have been authorized and meet necessary criteria to receive transportationby the Children’s Integrated Services(CIS) Child Care Coordinator. The CIS Child Care Coordinator will enter transportation authorizations into the CDD’s Bright Futures Information System (BFIS) and will communicate transportation eligibility decisions to the Contractor.StandardTransportation ServicesThepurpose of this Contract is services generally on the subject of standardtransportation for children/youth referred by the District Office and/or other clients of the Agency. Contractor shall provide transportation to and from supported family time,family decision making meetings, family time visitations, school, appointments, and other relatedactivities. Contractor maytravel from home, school, State placement,or office. The transportation provided by the contractor willincludetransporting children/youth, and may includeothers related to the child’s/youth’s case, to or from these activities.Safety Enhanced TransportationServicesThis contract is also on the subject of safety enhanced transportation services. Contractor will ensure transporters are trained onhow to handle difficult children/youthandhow to follow social worker instructions.The Contractor shall be available upon the request of the State’s Family Services Division to provide safety enhanced transportationforchildren/youthin thelegal custody of the State and/or other clients of the agency. Contractor will be able to provide vehicles for transport when requested that include the following safety modifications: partition between the front and back seat, safety locks on doors to prevent thedoors from being opened while in transit, proper child safety restraint seat to be provided by the referring DCF/FSD district office, and safety belts. Children/youth will be transported in the least restrictive manner, unless otherwise requested by DCF/FSDthat maintains safety while limiting the emotional impact ofthe transport. Contractor will not have any additional passengers in the vehicle when transporting children/youth, unless requested by the District or the Contractor has received approval prior to the transportby the District.
