Specifications include, but are not limited to:. 1. Ergonomic Evaluations The awarded Bidder will be responsible for all worksite ergonomic evaluations for Maine State Government employees, utilizing a training model for a Peer Evaluation program in combination with ergonomic evaluations performed by a licensed Physical and/or Occupational Therapist. During calendar year 2019 (1/1/19 to 12/31/19) there were 1,605 worksite evaluations completed statewide with just over half (819) being performed by a peer evaluator. The remaining 786 were conducted by a Physical and/or Occupational Therapist. All standard workstation evaluations will be directed to the vendor for completion by either a Peer Evaluator and/or a Maine state licensed Physical and/or Occupational Therapist. A standard evaluation profile will be mutually agreed upon, completed by the awarded Bidder and sent to a distribution list provided by the Department. All workstation evaluations involving individuals with any type of medical condition (preexisting, non-work-related, work-related, etc.) must be escalated and completed within five (5) business days upon receipt of referral. All other preventive evaluations need to be completed within ten (10) business days upon receipt of referral. The awarded Bidder will also be responsible for managing the onsite chair fitting operation. All chair fittings will be conducted by a fully trained specialist with expertise in this area and offered on a weekly basis. There were 437 chair fittings in 2019. 2. Prevention Training The awarded Bidder will be responsible for conducting specialized ergonomic training sessions on specific prevention areas affecting our workforce. All educational and training aspects of the Ergonomic, Prevention and Peer Evaluation Program must have the option of virtual offerings as well as in office opportunities. Examples of these types of training sessions could include administering a survey on the climate of a work environment, consultation on vehicle laptop use, and other departmental specific prevention training sessions. The awarded Bidder will propose statewide or department specific strategies for workplace safety programs that may lead to reduction in Workers’ Compensation claims. The current program is housed on state owned property in Augusta, Maine. The largest state offices are in the following areas: Augusta, Bangor, Lewiston and Portland, Maine.
