Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is seeking responses from qualified attorneys and firms (Counsel) to provide legal services for Federal and State Agency tax matters. TEA reserves the right to engage other legal counsel or consultants to provide the same or similar services. TEA will select counsel based upon several criteria, including the respondent’s demonstrated competence, experience, knowledge, qualifications, written and verbal communication skills, ability, and willingness to comply with TEA contracting and invoicing requirements, absence of disqualifying relationships or conflicts of interest, prior experience providing legal services to TEA, and reasonableness of proposed fees, among others. Respondents may be asked for an interview to discuss the firm’s experience and qualifications. There is no assurance that TEA will experience a need during the period covered by this solicitation for any legal services, although TEA anticipates that counsel will be taken under contract for Federal and State Agency tax matters. All TEA engagements will be submitted to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for approval.
