Specifications include, but are not limited to: a.Interdisciplinary Medical Simulation LabCreate a 4 bedinterdisciplinary medical simulationlab. The microbiology classroom lab (Room 121) will be relocated out of the building, freeing up roughly 1,300square feet for the new interdisciplinary lab to replicate emergency room, intensive care unit, and inpatient hospital rooms.The lab will also allow programs to work in a collaborative environment in order to gain a better understanding of patient care from first response through hospital care through discharge and even in-home care. b.Allied Health Continuing EducationThe size of the Allied Health Continuing Education Classroom is not adequate for the State of Texas requirements for Nurse Aid testing and certification.The new testing suite will incorporate an additional medical simulation room. c.CPR and First Aid Classroom The space used for CPR and first aid training will be enlarged, improved,and modernized by remodeling the existing or adjacent classroom into a larger, well-equipped teaching room. The new classroom will have increased storage capacity to stock instructional material and training aids.
