Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide an overlay on northeast exterior stairway only as shown on the attached plans. Demo/remove nose on concrete stairs. Placement of #4 & #5 rebar. Frame, pour, and finish 6” concrete overlay of stairs. New overlay to be debonded from existing stairway using building paper or other method. A crystalline waterproofing agent such as Xypex or approved alternate shall be mixed into the concrete mixture. Do not apply as a topcoat. The cold joint between pours will not be doweled and rebar will not extend between sections of the overlay. Concrete shall be 4,500 psi at 28 days with rebar installed as shown on the plans. Provide new two rail galvanized steel handrail in two locations. One each for the exterior stairway walls. Stairway railing shall reach at the top of stairs and wrap building to match west stairway. Stairway to be painted dark bronze. Contractor is responsible for directing pedestrian traffic around the construction area with barriers.
