Specifications include, but are not limited to: o provide round trip barge transportation services between Ketchikan, Alaska and Icy Cape, Alaska on an as needed basis over a three‐year term at approximately 2‐3 trips per season. The Contractor shall transport materials, equipment, and supplies from Ketchikan, Alaska, to Icy Cape, Alaska. Icy Cape is located approximately 70 miles northwest of Yakutat, Alaska in west Icy Bay. Because there are no docking facilities at Icy Cape, the Contractor shall use a ramp barge or landing craft which meets USCG Load Line Regulations and is capable of loading and off‐loading in a remote undeveloped location. The TLO will arrange for delivery of items to either the Alaska Marine Lines (AML) or Olson Marine in Ketchikan. The Contractor must transport items from the Ketchikan location (either AML or Olson Marine) to Icy Cape. Barge services shall include all aspects of loading and securing cargo for the trip to Icy Cape: off‐loading of cargo at Icy Cape; loading and securing cargo for the trip from Icy Cape to Ketchikan; and off‐loading of cargo in Ketchikan. The Contractor must provide equipment items necessary for loading, securing, and off‐loading cargo. Cost of Contractor provided equipment is to be included in the Unit Cost per trip shown in the Bid Schedule. The Contractor shall be responsible for insuring cargo during loading, transportation, and off‐loading. Two round trip services are required for this contract during the 2021 field season.
