Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Bangor requests bids to furnish and deliver one (1) minimum 8 Cubic yard debris hopper with dual gutter brooms, vacuum street sweeper, truck mounted on Cab Over Engine (COE) chassis, FOB Destination to the Fleet Maintenance Facility, 481 Maine Avenue, Bangor, Maine. The equipment must be furnished and delivered in accordance with the attached specifications and following conditions. This unit must be the most current year model available. The City will consider alternate bids for the purchase of an unsold, new, prior year model if it meets or exceeds the requested specifications. The City of Bangor intends to trade in a 2002 Johnston 605 with approximately 11,790 hours. Trade-in Information is included in Section XI. 2. Truck Cab & Chassis a. Chassis shall be COE design with minimum 33,000 GVWR. State chassis make, model and point of manufacture below. Point of Manufacturer: Chassis Make: Sweeper Make: Sweeper Model: b. Wheel Base maximum 178”. c. Cab shall be COE type. 3. Axles & Suspension a. Front axle shall be 12,000 lbs. minimum. b. Rear axle shall be a two speed Meritor RS-21- 230, 21,000 lbs. Capacity with minimum ratio of 5.86:1 or equal c. Front & Rear oil seals shall be provided. d. Front & Rear dust shields shall be provided e. Front suspension shall be 12,000 lbs. minimum at ground load rating. f. Front shock absorbers shall be supplied. g. Rear suspension shall be 23,000 lbs. minimum with multi-leaf springs. 4. Brake System – ABS a. A WABCO 4S/4M ABS brake system will be supplied or equal b. Front & Rear service brakes shall be “full air” “S” cam type. Front with 15”x4” and Back with 16.5”x7” brake linings. Or Air disc Brakes adequate to stop vehicle per USDOT standards
