Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) is responsible for providing consultation and training for employers to develop and maintain workplace safety in conformity with the provision of Chapter 618 of the Nevada Revised Statutes. The scope of the program is to develop, promote, and track the success of a statewide workplace safety multi-media educational and informational program. The purpose of the program is to increase public awareness in an effort to reduce the number and severity of occupational injuries and illnesses in Nevada. One primary objective of the program is to change employer and employee behavior patterns so that they will think and act safely on the job.
