Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor’s primary responsibility will be to serve as the presiding Hearing Officer in contested VOSHA cases conducting evidentiary hearings in a quasi-judicial administrative law capacity. As presiding officer, Contractor will oversee the prehearing process, establish scheduling orders, resolve other prehearing issues such as discovery. In addition, hearings will be conducted in accordance with the VRB Rules of Procedure, Vermont Rules of Civil Procedure and Vermont Administrative Procedures Act. Hearings will take place at 13 Baldwin Street, Montpelier, VT 05602 or remotely through Microsoft Teams unless otherwise ordered. Timeline for completion of a decision is 90 days from the filing of briefs, unless specified differently in the VRB Rules of Procedure or otherwise agreed to timeline by the VRB Chairperson and/or Clerk.
