Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary objective of this project is to evaluate the existing HVAC systems in the building and replace those elements necessary to provide proper temperature, ventilation, and humidity control for the building. The following shall be included in the engineering design firm’s scope of work: 3.1.1. Proper control of the temperature and humidity in the building for all of its uses throughout the year to include, preventing future mold growth, preserving the valuable pieces of art and artifacts in the building, as well as the building itself, and a healthy environment for the occupants. This will require active dehumidification during the summer, and humidity maintenance during the winter, and may possibly require active humidification. 3.1.2. Provide proper ventilation to control VOC’s and CO2 below acceptable levels. 3.1.3. Serious consideration of how to deliver the air to the spaces currently served by AHU-6, the Legislative Lounge may stay as is to provide a historical context to the wing, while the rest of the distribution is redesigned.
