Microsoft is ending the support of Windows 7 in January 2020 and the available operating system will be windows 10. The TAC Vista BAS software is not compatible with Windows 10. At this time, it is the Agency’s belief that it is the best financial and operationally reliable route to pursue an open platform system as defined by the American Society on Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) that can reside overtop of existing systems but provide a non-vendor dependent path forward with the ASHRAE standard. ASHRAE standard 135 has been established as the industry defining body and standard governing Building Automation Systems. The standard promotes an open standard language (protocol) across its devices.
